REFURBISHMENT
KELMSCOTT MANOR
Restoration and Refurbishment of Kelmscott Manor, Oxfordshire
We were commissioned by The Society of Antiquaries of London to conserve and renovate this historically important former home of William Morris, the father of the “Arts and Crafts” movement. Kelmscott Manor became his inspiration and a lot of his works can be attributed to the dwelling which has been preserved to give a glimpse back to his lifetime. Unfortunately, the passage of time had taken its toll on the 17th Century Grade I Listed property and we were tasked with the ambitious six million pound project to reinstate The Manor to its former glory.
At the heart of the scheme was the importance of utilising traditional materials and craftsmanship throughout the conservation, repair and restoration process and our skilled and dedicated site team diligently moved the project forward, always with an eye to the past. On completion of the comprehensive programme our clients were delighted by the high standard of workmanship and outstanding level of dedication given by our company, honouring the ethos of their project.
The Manor House has been showcased in an episode of Nick Knowles Heritage Rescue (please see link below) which perfectly captures our capabilities, knowledge and commitment and demonstrates our ability to go over and above the norm in our industry.
