STUDENT ACCOMODATION DEVELOPMENT

Our brief was to convert and extend an existing nightclub within a busy city central setting to form a modern student accommodation block to service the local University for a private client, all within the constraints of a Listed Building.

This interesting project was undertaken with an emphasis on timescales and access issues as well as preserving the existing detailing of the original building during the conversion process, whilst improving and modernising the space to suit the needs of the students and to comply with all necessary landlord regulations. In order to maximise the available rental capacity a new five storey extension was formed to the rear of the building and rock anchors were installed to stabilise the ground upon which the extension would be built. On completion the building has proved to be an attractive rental to students and the superb quality finish, fixtures and fittings have provided our client with an easily maintained, popular student block within the city.
